Journal Policy

Goals
The Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias Agrarias It is a semi-annual open access journal., edited by Peruvian Science. Dedicated to the scientific dissemination of original, review, and unpublished articles by authors from universities, research institutions, official organizations, and companies.
It will be developed in the field of plant physiology, aspects of soil science, crop establishment and yield, plant growth, science of pests and diseases in agriculture, likewise, the use of other beneficial organisms in pest control. The main criteria for publication is that the manuscript should contain original and significant ideas that lead to a better understanding of the agricultural field. Articles focusing on different crops should be of interest to a wide audience and the methods employed result in a substantial improvement over existing established techniques and approaches. The language can be Spanish, English and/or Quechua. The magazine seeks from the publications to promote the development of research in the agricultural sector.
Disseminate scientific production in the areas of plant physiology, agricultural entomology, plant pathology, plant genetics, plant breeding, thus strengthening research in the field of agriculture that is carried out worldwide.

Peer review process
In the case of scientific articles and essays, the journal uses a double-blind peer review process, that is, neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other's identity. Reviewers are chosen based on their academic record that demonstrates expertise in the subject to be evaluated. Evaluation periods generally last four to six months.

Periodicity

The periodicity of the magazine is semi-annual, using the "open window" format for the dissemination of articles. It publishes two issues a year, which does not exclude the existence of special issues. The issues are usually published in June and December of each year.

Publication languages

The journal publishes scientific articles in three languages: Spanish, English and Quechua.

Publication ethics
Manuscripts for full consideration should be written concisely and essentially as a final report. The main criteria for publication is that the manuscript should contain original and significant ideas that lead to a better understanding of agriculture.

Copyright and license

The Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias Agrarias applies the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY NC ND) license to the articles and other works we publish. Therefore, each manuscript submitted for publication by the journal will be processed under the CC BY NC ND license. This means that the manuscript author retains copyright to their published documents while agreeing that their article may be reused in whole or in part by anyone for any purpose, free of charge, including for commercial purposes. The use of this license is consistent with the open access policy of the journal, since this is the most open license considered "the gold standard" of open access.

Article Processing Charges (APC):

At the Latin American Journal of Agricultural Sciences, we are committed to guaranteeing open access to published articles, which means covering the costs of production, review and publication through Article Processing Charges (APC).

Access:

The Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias Agrarias is "golden open access", this means that it does not charge for access to any document published in the journal.

Archiving

The journal uses the LOCKSS system to create a storage system for conservation and restoration purposes.

Verification for shipment

As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors who do not comply with these guidelines.


Plagiarism Policy


The journal penalizes plagiarism in all its forms. The detection of plagiarism implies the conclusion of any editorial process. In the case of already published articles, the retraction criteria of the journal will be used. Turnitin software is used, among others, to determine matches between submitted texts and other texts and articles already published on the Internet.
The journal may use plagiarism detection software to screen submissions. If plagiarism is identified, the (COPE) guidelines on plagiarism will be followed.


Confidentiality


Authors should treat all communication with the journal as confidential, including correspondence with direct representatives of the journal, such as editors-in-chief and/or editors-in-charge, and reports from reviewers, unless previously received. explicit consent to share information.
