About the Journal
PRIUS – Journal of Law and Political Science (online ISSN: 2961-2829) is an open-access electronic publication edited by Peruvian Science, with an annual frequency. PRIUS is dedicated to the scholarly dissemination of original articles and review articles in the fields of Law and Political Science, giving priority to contributions that combine conceptual rigor, methodological clarity, and relevance to contemporary public issues.
Aims and Scope
The journal aims to consolidate itself as a forum for academic dialogue among researchers, faculty, professionals, and practitioners, promoting critical and well-grounded discussion on institutions, legal norms, public policies, social processes, and power dynamics in national, regional, and international contexts. PRIUS values a diversity of approaches and traditions and welcomes theoretical, empirical, and normative contributions, provided that objectives, methods, and conclusions are consistent and that sources are traceable and verifiable.
PRIUS particularly welcomes manuscripts addressing contemporary transformations related to the digitalization of public life, democratic quality, governance, the administration of justice, fundamental rights, regulation, and institutional design. The journal also welcomes contributions in Political Sociology, Political Anthropology, and International Relations when they engage with questions of power, the state, and institutions through analytically and methodologically robust perspectives.

PRIUS accepts manuscripts in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and welcomes both individual and collaborative research, with an emphasis on work that provides evidence, critical analysis, and well-grounded proposals to better understand and improve institutional practices and public debate.
Publication Frequency
As of 2024, PRIUS follows an annual publication schedule. The journal publishes one volume per year, corresponding to the calendar year. Accepted articles are incorporated into the annual volume according to the editorial calendar and the editing and layout process.
Open Access Policy
PRIUS provides immediate open access to all its content, based on the principle that free public access to research fosters the circulation of knowledge and strengthens scholarly exchange on a global scale.
License
Content published in PRIUS is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which allows sharing and adaptation for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the original source.
Publication Fees / APCs (Article Processing Charges)
Publishing in PRIUS is free of charge for authors. The journal does not charge submission fees, editorial handling fees, copyediting/layout fees, or publication fees. PRIUS does not levy APCs (Article Processing Charges).
Data Availability
Original research articles must include a data availability statement indicating where the data supporting the reported results can be found. Authors are encouraged to provide links to public repositories when applicable, or to explicitly explain any ethical, legal, or confidentiality restrictions that prevent data sharing. For examples of data availability statements, please consult the journal’s manuscript template.
Archiving and Digital Preservation
PRIUS implements digital preservation measures to ensure the long-term conservation and recoverability of its content. The journal uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, which enables distributed copies to be stored across participating libraries and supports the preservation and restoration of published files. This process is managed by the journal’s editorial and publishing entity, Peruvian Science.
