Welcome to our Latin American Journal of Agricultural Sciences, in this volume 1, number 2, we will delve into various topics related to the exciting world of agriculture and food production. In this presentation, we will explore key topics such as plant pathology, agroecology, plant nutrition, agroforestry and plant breeding, which are fundamental for sustainable cultivation and the improvement of agricultural practices.
In the area of phytopathology we deal with the study of the various diseases that affect plants and their impact on agriculture. Through this field of research, we seek to understand the causes, diagnosis and control of plant diseases, with the aim of protecting crops and guaranteeing healthy and sustainable production.
Agroecology seeks to integrate agricultural science with the principles of sustainability and respect for the environment. Through agroecological practices, such as the use of natural pest control methods and the promotion of biodiversity, we seek to reduce the negative impact of agriculture on ecosystems and promote more balanced and resilient production systems.
