Pests generate significant losses in global agricultural production by affecting flora and plant products. This research used a non-experimental design with a descriptive scope whose population included the producers of the Santa Valley and surveys were used as a data collection technique.
Likewise, the three pests that cause the greatest damage to the cabbage crop and the economic situation of farmers were identified: the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella), the white crested butterfly (Leptophobia aripa) and the aphid (Brevicoryne brassicae), in addition to the cabbage caterpillar (Trichoplusia ni) as a secondary pest. In addition, it was found that high climatic temperatures accelerate the proliferation of pests, for this reason, it is recommended to sow in cold seasons so that the cabbages develop adequate head formation and facilitate integrated pest control by farmers.
