Abstract

Climate change is one of the most important factors related to the presence of diseases that affect crops in Peru. For this reason, during 2021 in the highlands of Alto Piura, there were diseases that damaged the yield of potato crops (Solanum tuberosum, L), especially in the area located in the hamlet of Culcas, which was economically affected. Therefore, the objective of this research was to identify the main diseases that caused significant losses to the population. To identify the level of incidence of potato (Solanum tuberosum; L) crop diseases.

This was a descriptive project, using a non-experimental design and a survey of 100 potato farmers. The data collection technique was the survey, with the participation of potato (Solanum tuberosum, L) farmers located in the highlands of Alto Piura, district of Frias. After the execution of this study, it was determined that the diseases that cause the most damage to the potato crop (Solanum tuberosum, L) are: "late blight" (Phytophthora infestans), "potato black scab" (Rhizoctonia solani).
