Abstract

Political science has experienced diverse evolution processes throughout its history, despite its youth as a discipline. It has consolidated as a crucial tool to understand the complexity of power relations in human societies. In this context, it's necessary to save the integrity of the research method, protecting it from bias and doxas that could distort its validity. Along with this essay, I will advocate for the complete and epistemic development of the method in political studies, relegating the pernicious influence of bias and doxas. We use empiricist and constructivist approaches as illustrative paradigms to analyze bias that take part in theoretical contrasts.

In sum, this research advocates for preventing the exacerbation of bias in political science's development studies, particularly in the approaches mentioned above (empiricist and constructivist), proposing a position that privileges objectivity and methodological rigor in political research.
