The research addresses fertilization in the agricultural fields of the Santa Valley, focusing on corn (Zea mays L.). The objective is to obtain clear information on the techniques used and the factors that influence the choice of these techniques. Fertilizer application techniques on corn in the Santa Valley - Ancash were investigated, supported by literature reviews on the subject. The methodology included the elaboration of a questionnaire based on specific objectives to identify the most used technique and the influential factors in their choice. After collecting the surveys, graphs were made with the results obtained from the population dedicated to corn cultivation.
Four fertilization techniques are used in the Santa Valley: broadcasting, threshing, mulching and fertigation. The most commonly used are "tronqueo", also known as "sembrado", and "faja", also known as "tubo". The main factor influencing the choice of technique is the cost of both fertilizer and labor, while agronomic factors are currently secondary.
